It is called ‘Incunabula’. I’ve had feedback that suggests that’s way too obscure for a title, but I like it. The etymology of the word is ‘in cradle’ – it represents the cradle of civilization; renaissance of society. The word is used in librarianship to mean ‘an early printed book’. The novel’s main character is a former librarian and the title also suggests her loneliness and longing for family bonds. |
