The choker which could also be called a collar as it is designed to sit at the base of the neck was inspired by intricate wirework that I've seen in galleries and museums where I simply could not work out how on earth they had been made. I decided that I would set myself a challenge to try and make something equally as intricate and also mysterious in it's construction.

It took several months of failed experiments to come up with the basic structure of the design, most attempts either failed to hold together sufficiently or were far too complicated to make again which would defeat the purpose as I wanted to re-sell the design over and again. Eventually I came up with the idea of loosely weaving strands of wire which had crystals wired onto them and the idea worked! The shape came about by the way this first successful attempt bent when I curved it into a round shape, there were some crystals in the middle sitting slight lower and this just seemed to look right so I emphasised them by manipulating the wire and the 'v' shape came into being.

Initially I thought the choker would be an evening piece of jewellery but it has been made for many brides across the UK not only in clear and silver but also using colours, the most exciting one made for a bride so far was made using silver wire and fuchsia and fire opal orange crystals which was very colourful and happy and a perfect match for her equally colourful shoes!
