This photograph appears in 'India - The Elephant's Blessing' , the title of Aline Dobbie's third book about India. The first was 'India - The Peacock's Call' and the second 'India - The Tiger's Roar'. In India it is believed that the elephant is a sacred animal and can give you a blessing within the precincts of a temple. Aline says that she herself received such a blessing 'long years ago as a child'.
