Hello from Don and Joanne,

We hope you’ve all managed to find some sun somewhere this Summer. It’s
been a pretty dreich one, hasn’t it? Well, never mind, the Clyde Valley
is always full of bright creative promise and you can locate it here on
www.clydevalley.net!

So why not take up a new interest, or develop an old one? Have a look at
our ‘Group Meeting Days’ page and see the wealth of activities going on
here on your doorstep. Groups and clubs are always delighted to find new
members, as you know. Why not take yourself along?

Have a look at our ‘Events’ pages and note the many excellent concerts
that are organised locally, more reasonably priced than in town and
saving you that journey as well. Why not enjoy an excellent concert,
make new friends and support these groups at the same time?

Maybe you’ve noticed that there hasn’t been a Newsletter for a month or
two? We thought we’d wait till the school holidays were over before
writing, but also we mean to send the Newsletter from time to time
rather than once a month.

And have you noticed that the Showcase page has changed in format? The
main reason for this is that we’ve often found ourselves travelling at
the end of some months and so access to the internet for a monthly
changeover isn’t always readily available. For that, and other reasons,
we’ve decided to make it easier on ourselves by not ‘phoning or mailing
individuals so regularly about having work included in Showcase. We are
now taking work and including it just when it comes in to us. Of course,
that means that we now can receive and publish work on a daily basis!
The only caveat is that at least six months should have elapsed between
successive appearances of the same author in our Showcase.

We’re also aware that many groups have their own excellent websites
where they can publish programmes of their events and work by their own
members. It would be great if they would remember us from time to time
as well because we would happily share their members’ work with our own,
wider audience. And, even though regular group meetings are listed on
our Group Meeting Days page, we will also add any special events and
meetings to our events pages if we are informed in advance. Finally, if
you are in charge of publicity for your group, you might want to check
your group’s information on our pages and let us know if any changes are
needed to keep it up to date.

So our own changes are that Newsletters will arrive from time to time
instead of once a month, and Showcase will be updated whenever new work
comes in. Please support us by sending work when you can. We’re stepping
back a little and inviting you to step forwards. We hope you will.

Best wishes from us both.

PS : If you don’t want to receive this Newsletter, just let us know.
Your friends can receive it if they don’t already, all they need to do
is email their request to either :-
