Hi there from Don and me.

As you know, we take a break over the festive season, so there’s no Showcase this month. There’s too much richness around at this time anyway! But it’ll be back in February for sure.

When you next visit www.clydevalley.net you’ll notice a slightly different layout under ‘Sponsored Links’ on the right-hand side. This list will be rotated to give each Link equal visibility over time. We’ve already had feedback from one LInk :-

‘I like the new layout. Since I set up my website last February there has been a steady increase in visitors and your site is always mentioned as a link.’

And feedback about the main site includes :-

‘Thank you so much for my feature in Showcase.  I had a phone call from a lady in Hamilton who has booked me to teach her husband to paint.  Classes are starting next week and I'm looking forward to being able to help him - and it's all down to you!’
 And :-
‘Something to cheer you up: last night I heard someone say  “Thank goodness for Clydevalley.net”  - so there you go, you are appreciated!’

This month we had over 23,000 hits. That could be a lot more if you just tell one person about us today! We hope you will. Also, if your browser has a Google toolbar, you will see that the clydevalley.net home page ranks around 40%, which is about equal with the home page of South Lanarkshire Council and also The Guid Life. The home page of the Scottish Business Directory ranks at about 20% , The Met Office home page at around 50%, Ryanair about 60% and the BBC about 90%.

Now, over to you! Please could you check your and your group’s events and send us corrections and details of future events? We would love to have the time to get this information by visiting your website regularly, but there are at least 60 of them – representing hours of work! Perhaps the information that goes to your webmaster could also come to us? Then there are the 100-odd other listings that don’t have a website. So we rely totally on you for your event information.

All the best for 2006 from us both.

Joanne and Don
