Three members of Carluke Camera Club and myself were travelling back to our B&B on south east Harris when we came upon this beautiful afterglow on still water. The south east part of Harris is very Barn and hilly and this loch was actually used as a fish farm. For photographers the technical information on the shot is as follows. It is a digital image from a Canon 20D with a Canon 24-105mm image stabiliser lens set at 24 mm. Because of the stabiliser I was able to hand hold the camera at 1/5th sec with an aperture of f6.3. I also used a burst of flash to help improve detail on the boat. The digital file was tweaked in Photoshop before printing on an A3 Epson 1290 printer. If you are interested in photography and would like to learn more then come along to Carluke community centre any Friday night at 7.30.' |
