Biggar Scottish Country Dance Group

Dance yourself fitter! Where else can you have fun while taking a little aerobic exercise and at so little expense? We meet every Wednesday 7.30 to 9pm in the upper hall at Gillespie Centre from the last Wednesday in September until end of April.  Dance instruction to recorded music. New members always very welcome. Every April we also hold an end-of-season dance in the Municipal Hall, Biggar, to the music of a top live country dance band.  Dances are recapped and anyone modestly competent is welcome to join us.

Carluke (Scottish) Country Dance Class

Meets in Kirkton Church Hall, Tuesdays, 7.30 till 9.30 October till March. The teacher is Mrs. Sadie Smith. New members are always welcome. There are end of term dances held in December and March to live music. Anyone is welcome to come to these. Cost is usually £3.

Come Ceilidh!

Wedding coming up? Family party? Other celebration? Need to get fit? Or just want to have fun dancing? Come and dance traditional dances with leader Nell Broadbridge. Suitable for all ages. No experience necessary, come and enjoy yourself! September  - April, weekly on Mondays in Harry Smith Memorial Complex, Lanark or  weekly on Wednesdays in St John's Church Hall, Carluke. All sessions 7.30 - 9.00pm.

Cost: £3.50 per night.

R.S.C. Dance Society (Lanark Branch)

Meets Robert Owen Primary School, Smyllum Road, Lanark, Tuesdays, 7.00 till 9.00 from mid September until end November and then from January until end March. There are two end-of-term dances. Dance instruction is given with live accordian music. New members are always welcome. If you like Scottish music and dancing, come and join us. the exercise is good - both physical and mental!

Meets in Balgreen Hall, Glasgow Road, Tuesdays, 7.30 till 9.30 from the Tuesday after the September weekend. There are 12 meetings before the Christmas break and 12 from January until Easter. New members are always welcome, especially men.
