On this page are listed open events where you do not have to join a group but you can go along as a participant, a spectator or a member of the audience. All of the events listed here are also listed, together with other events, on the appropriate EVENTS pages for arts, craft, dance, music, and literature. For events, where you have to join a group to participate, you can find all of the regular group meeting days on our 'Group Meeting Days' page. You can also find more detailed information on the varous GROUP pages listing groups. Eg to find the usual meeting times of photographic groups and camera clubs you would look in the page 'Photographers'.

| Saturday | May 17th, 10.30am-5.30pm, The Music Workshop, Old Schoolhouse, Carstairs Junction | The Music Workshop is holding a Clarinet Day in association with The Wind Section (Edinburgh).
It’s an ideal opportunity for clarinettists of Grade 1-5 standard to
get together, have fun and play with others, develop playing technique,
explore and try out new instruments and accessories supplied by The
Wind Section, who will have their own instrument room and will be
running sessions on instrument maintenance and available for general
advice. The practical workshops will be led by professional

| Tuesday | May 27th, 7.30, Corn Exchange, Biggar | Biggar Writers' Group, in conjunction with a writing group based in Edinburgh, is hosting an evening of readings in which writers from the groups and others read from their work in
5-15 minute 'slots' - poetry, short stories, or extracts from
novels/works inprogress. Of course, you don't have to be
