The band is made up of members of the community who get together to make and perform music. The personnel range from children as young as 9 to adults in their 60's and come from all walks of life. The musical repertoire includes numerous items, which range from classical music, popular music, easy listening, TV/film themes and military marches . The band meets and practises every Sunday and Wednesday in Carluke Welfare Hall in Sandy Road and plays in and around Carluke at gala days, open-air events and in concerts. For almost thirty years it has been host to almost everyone who is anyone on the folk scene....and artists are welcomed by a knowledgable, informed and friendly audience who ask only to be entertained. All types of acoustic music - traditional, contemporary, blues, country etc.. are in evidence over the course of the year performed by a wide variety of artists from as far afield as America, Australia and Stonehouse.
