Notice Board - Guidelines

You can place a notice even though you (or your group or event) are not listed on our site pages. It's free!

You might think about using the noticeboard for things you would like to share with others but which don't easily fall into the category of 'events'. Here are some examples:-

  • You might have made last-minute changes to your event. For example an event may be cancelled or re-scheduled or ticket prices may change. Your event need not be listed already on our pages. Even if it is and the entry is changed on the 'events' page, some people might not look there or notice the change.
  • There might be changes to your or your group's organisation or aims. For example you might have a new tutor or meeting place. Again that might be incorporated already in your existing entry but that could be easily missed.
  • You or your group might have just had something published, like a poem or a story or a CD.
  • You might be interested in forming a new group and want to find out if there are any like-minded souls who could be interested in joining it.
  • You might have a question or need advice about some matter cultural. For example where can you obtain materials or funding.
  • You might want to borrow, buy, sell or exchange materials. So long as that is relevant to the cultural focus of clydevalley.net it could be shared via the noticeboard.
  • You might be a teacher of music or dancing or a craft or of painting.
  • You might want to share transportation or form a group to visit somewhere or get enough people together to allow you to organise something.

Whatever your reason, here is what happens:-

  • Send an email to noticeboardclydevalleynet with your notice on it. Your notice must contain some contact information such as address, telephone or email address. Try to keep your notice to less than 100 words.
  • It will be placed on the noticeboard until you tell us to remove it or until it is clearly no longer relevant (eg it refers to an event now past).
  • We won't check spelling or grammar and we will not edit your notice in any way (except to remove what might be seen as critical or offensive).
  • As we do with all the entries to our pages, we will 'protect' your email address on the notice by replacing '@' and '. ' with images so that your address cannot be easily picked up by spammers using automated searches.
  • We will put notices on the noticeboard in the order in which they are received, newest at the top, oldest at the bottom.

Our decision whether or not to publish a notice will be final. We will be as accommodating as possible but we want to avoid putting up notices which are critical of individuals or groups.
